Meet our 2021 Mike Moss Award Recipients!

Dustin Magidson (top left)

Entertainment & Arts Management senior Dustin Magidson is spearheading the creation of a new musical project and album with the help of members from the Drexel community. The album focuses on the difficulties of coming of age in an increasingly distanced world. It highlights the modern-day struggles of isolation, mental health awareness, socio-political strife, and learning to share and collaborate in a world lacking social intimacy.

Nicole Case (right)

Inspired by the dance community’s ability to adapt and persevere during COVID-19, Entertainment and Arts Management senior Nicole Case created the DiscoverMe Dance Virtual Showcase. Her project provides an opportunity for talented dancers to develop their work, receive professional feedback, and further their career goals in a virtual setting. Her goal for DiscoverMe Dance is to foster an accessible, diverse, and creative community for aspiring professional dancers.

Margaux Cattelona (bottom left)

Pull Back the Curtain: A Philly Theatre Podcast is a senior project by Entertainment and Arts Management senior Margaux Cattelona. The podcast aims to inform the next generation of theatre managers about the strengths and weaknesses in our industry, using the experiences and voices of marginalized genders, including women, non-binary, and trans artists. Each episode features a different artist from Philly theatre, who speaks about their work in the industry and how they want to see Philly theatre improve in the future.

About the Mike Moss Memorial Fund Award

The Myron "Mike" Moss Memorial Fund supports Drexel University students pursuing projects in music or collaborative projects in the performing arts, including further study and support for performances. Mike's career was defined by deep engagement with student and faculty intellectual curiosity and a particular concern for ethnic and gender fairness. His memorial fund supports projects that embody his spirit.
